Several Belgrade landmarks, like three bridges, a fountain, Parliament building and Albania Palace are lightened in blue, marking the occasion of the World Autism Awareness Day, N1 reported on Thursday.

"Today we should spread the awareness about autism, take measures against discrimination and promote the inclusion into the society," Goran Vesic, Belgrade Deputy Mayor wrote on his Facebook profile, adding pictures of some landmarks shining in blue.

He adds that several thousand people with autism live in Serbia.

Earlier in the day, the opposition Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) demanded that special instructions were made for people with autism in case they were infected with coronavirus and if their parents or guardians were positive on the virus.
