The Vojvodina Clinical Center announced that despite an intense battle between doctors and other medical staff, a 62-year-old coronavirus patient from Kikinda died on Saturday night at the Infectious Diseases Clinic making this the 11th coronavirus fatality in Serbia.

In the last 24 hours, 49 people were tested for the presence of the coronavirus in Vojvodina, and 15 cases came back positive.

The Infectious Diseases Clinic of the Vojvodina Clinical Center, currently treats 35 patients with coronavirus.

In case of a mass influx of patients, Vojvodina province health secretary Zoran Gojkovic said a temporary hospital at Sajam hall was already put in place, with a capacity of 1,000 beds, and it will serve for patients who have a milder symptoms and who do not require a more intensive treatment.
