Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told the state TV (RTS) that Serbian doctors, nurses and other medical staff would be flown in from Berlin on Friday to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.
Dacic said that children, students, medical staff, people on business trips and the sick are the priority for the government. He said that everyone has to go through mandatory medical procedures when entering the country.
The Foreign Minister said that the Berlin flight had been agreed in his meeting with President Aleksandar Vucic, adding that they discussed flights to Abu Dhabi and Malta which he said were not emergencies because no one is stranded at an airport there.
“These are people who lost their jobs, like on Malta, and tourists whose vacations are over,” he said. Dacic said that the government is not a travel agency solving the problems of each individual tourist. “We don’t sell tickets,” the Foreign Minister said.
