The Public Health Department in the western Serbian town of Valjevo has shut down its laboratory after five of its staff tested positive to the coronavirus.

The laboratory, which monitors the quality of the local water supply, has been shut down for the next two weeks and its work transferred to the Public Health Department in the nearby town of Sabac, a press release said.

The laboratory staff were infected by a co-worker who got the infection from a family member, it said and added that every staff member who had any contact with the five infected patients has been placed under medical supervision.
