Thaci says EU should abolish visas before Kosovo dialogue restarts Izvor: N1

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci on Tuesday voiced disappointment with his meeting with envoys of the German Chancellor and French President, adding that the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue can’t continue if the European Union doesn’t grant a liberalization of the visa regime for Kosovo residents.

He told reporters that the EU “is completely unprepared for the second stage of the dialogue”, adding that, as president, he would never go to Brussels for talks until the EU lifts the visa regime. “We deserve that and then we’ll see about the next steps,” he said.

According to Thaci, the US is leading the way and playing an “irreplaceable role in the process of reaching an agreement” between Kosovo and Serbia.
