Dacic added he was proud to be the first minister on a visit to China in this challenging time amid the coronavirus outbreak, his office said in a statement.

“It’s a great pleasure being here, and at the same time, I feel great sorrow that I’m coming to the beautiful Beijing at the time of the greatest challenges China is facing in its modern history,” Dacic said.

He said his visit confirmed the excellent strategic relationship and ‘the friendship of steel’, but also a show of solidarity and full trust Serbia had in China’s capability to restrain this ‘demonic disease,’ as China’s President Xi Jinping described the coronavirus.

“I can say that China is on the front-line of the world’s defence against this virus,” Dacic added.
