The Bulgarian Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov gave the green light to a Russian plane carrying the anti-aircraft ‘Pancir S1’ system to fly over the Bulgarian territory to Serbia, the state RTS TV reported on Thursday, quoting the Bulgarian media.

The first out of six ‘Pancir S1’ systems that Serbia ordered from Russia should arrive in Belgrade by the end of the week, as agreed by Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic and the Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu during his recent visit to Belgrade.

The members of the Army of Serbia have already been trained to handle the system since it was used during the joint military exercise “Slavic Shield 2019.”
