Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Thursday that her government had adopted the national Media Strategy to the year 2025.

She wrote on her Twitter account that the working group that drafted the Strategy would continue work on an action plan for its implementation. “This is the first step we will remain committed to the job,” she wrote.

Brnabic also thanked the working group, partners from the European Union, OSCE, Embassy of Norway and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

The drafting of the Media Strategy was fraught with disputes and arguments over its content. The original working group included representatives of several media and journalists’ organizations some of who walked out to express their dissatisfaction.
