Belgrade welcomes Chinese New Year with fireworks

Belgrade organised the Chinese New Year's Eve at its central Kalemegdan Park with the opening of the Chinese Festival of Light, and its officials joining Chinese living in the capital who said goodbye to the old year of Golden Pig and welcomed New Year of the Rat at 5 pm on Friday with four-minute fireworks, N1 reported.

"We see off the Golden Pig year and enter the Year of the Rat, the first animal on the Chinese calendar. I want to say that we have an increasing number of Chinese tourists in Belgrade and this is an opportunity to celebrate their New Year with as well," Belgrade Mayor Zoran Radoicic told the gathering.
