The Belgrade city transport company (GSP) is planning to buy 200 new gas-powered buses this year to help lower air pollution levels, the company’s CEO Radisa Momcilovic told the city Beoinfo portal.
He said that the GSP will build natural gas stations in two of its facilities for those buses. “”The condition to buy new buses in the coming period will be alternative fuel instead of diesel. The GSP will make a maximum contribution to keeping the air in Belgrade cleaner,”he is quoted as saying.
He said that 83 percent of the GSP buses have Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines, adding that the plan is to replace older buses in the next few months.
