A gathering in support of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro was held in front of St Mark’s church in central Belgrade on Friday.
The gathering was organized by the Belgrade University Law School Students’ Club whose spokespeople said that they were gathered in front of the church because the Serbian authorities have not reacted to their demands of December 27.
The crowd shouted Montenegro-Serbia, One Family; Kosovo Is the Heart of Serbia and insults against Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic.
The organizers said their next gathering has been scheduled for Friday, January 24.
The Montenegrin parliament recently adopted a law on religious communities which critics say will allow the authorities in that country to seize Serbian Orthodox Church properties.
