The Serbian government and Embassy of China have organized a Chinese New Year fair which was opened at Belgrade’s Kalemegdan fortress by Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic and Ambassador Chen Bo.

Ljajic said that a series of events would be organized in Belgrade and Novi Sad for the holiday, adding that the events are more confirmation of the best possible relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Chen said at the opening that the holiday has a 4,000 year history of new year fairs and expressed satisfaction with the first fair of its kind in Belgrade which will include artists from the Shantu province demonstrating holiday customs.

China marks New Year on January 24.
