The CRTA transparency watchdog organization filed charges with the Anti-Corruption Agency against Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Minister of Labor, Veterans’ and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic for allowing political party promotion in violation of the law.

A press release said that Brnabic appeared on the Novo Jutro morning show on the pro-government TV Pink and “called viewers to vote for her Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and failed to say whether she was appearing as a state or party official” in violation of the law.

It added that Minister Djordjevic broke the law in a similar way at a public gathering for senior citizens in a Belgrade suburb.

Under Serbian law, holders of public office are banned from campaigning for their political parties as state officials.
