The Serbian Association for the Protection of the Constitution and Legality protested in front of parliament on Wednesday, demanding the adopting of a law imposing limits on reality shows.
Activists put up pictures of scenes of violence and pornography in reality shows and banners saying the REM (Regulatory Body for Electronic Media) – regulatory body for pornography alongside a picture of pro-regime Happy TV editor in chief Milomir Maric and REM official Olivera Zekic.
The Association said it has collected some 48,000 signatures for its campaign titled In the Name of Culture. Association spokesman Sava Manojlovic said that he expects parliament to say whether it will adopt a law imposing limits on reality shows by the end of the year and take a stand on the Association initiative to dismiss REM members.
He said there were serious violations of the law in all reality shows on the pro-regime TV Pink and TV Happy and added that the Association wants reality shows limited to three hours a day.
