Serbia's FM to US: We're looking for strategic partnerships and friendy hugs Izvor: Ministarstvo spoljnih poslova

Ivica Dacic, Serbia's Foreign Minister, said on Friday that Belgrade carried for the country's national and state interests and that it was ready to cooperate with everyone who respected those interests, the Beta news agency reported.

Commenting on the Pentagon's reportabout the increased Russian influence in Serbia since President Aleksandar Vucic took power and a warning that the country was in Russia's hug, Dacic said Serbia "is looking for strategic partnership and friendly hugs," at the same time, adding that did not mean that anyone took control over it.

"Our arms are open for hugging, what is missing are arms that will hug us," Dacic told a joint news conference with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushkov.

He added that Serbia did not work against anyone but for itself and that it was not anyone's appendage.

Grushkov said he, being a diplomat, would not comment on a document he hadn't read, referring to the US report.

"Our military-technical cooperation does not violate the international norms," he said.

Dacic reiterated his country never exported arms to Ukraine or any country which is on the so-called blacklist."Whether there is some trade Serbia doesn't have anything to do with should be investigated," he added.

Commenting on information that Serbia's arms ended with terrorists, Dacic said "Serbia doesn't have anything to hide. Everything is transparent."
