Former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), a guerilla force that fought Belgrade army and police units in the 1998-1999 war in former Serbia’s province, Demush Laçi and Fitim Selimi were summoned by the Special Prosecutors based in The Hague in charge of the KLA suspected war crime, media reported on Tuesday.

Laçi wrote on his Facebook profile he was summoned for questioning, as did Selimi who said he was proud of that “bright period of his life.”

“KLA was a peak of my personal, professional and national identity,” he added.

The Special prosecutors have so far questioned over a 100 suspects, and some 800 witnesses related to the KLA alleged war crimes, including prominent political figures like Ramush Haradinaj, the outgoing Prime Minister, Kadri Veseli, and the outgoing Parliament Speaker and others.
