Serbia lacks waste processing facilities, environment minister says Izvor: N1

Environment Minister Goran Trivan said on Friday that Serbia lacks waste processing facilities, the ministry said in a press release.

The waste water purification plants and solid waste management facilities that Serbian needs will cost several billion Euro, the minister said at a conference on circular economies in the Slovenian resort of Bled.

He said that the ministry is working to resolve environmental problems and cited the example of a drop in the use of plastic bags in stores across the country. “A green economy is based on the determination to introduce new technologies and solutions which will reduce pollution,” Trivan said.
