Albulena Haxhiu, an MP of Kosovo Parliament from the Self-determination party led by Albin Kurti, believed to be the next Prime Minister, said on Wednesday he would be the first premier who would demand war reparation from Serbia, the FoNet news agency reported.
Haxhiu added that the approach to the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on the normalisation of relations which had been on hold for a year would change under Kurti’s leadership, the Pristina Bota Sot daily reported.
“Regarding the dialogue, we have to have a consensus, and Kosovo’s Parliament and the state must put with firm conditions to Serbia, including the reparation,” Haxhiu said, referring to the 1998-1999 war in the then Serbia's province,
She added that Kosovo’s Constitution did not stipulate that the Serb List, Kosovo Serbs’ political organisation supported by Belgrade, which overwhelmingly won the October 6 elections in Serb-populated area, should be in Pristina Government.
Nor they were needed, she added.
“We cannot neglect the Serbs who recognise Kosovo’s independence, who work on its progress and turn to the Serb List instead,” Haxhiu said.
