According to preliminary results of Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (CEC), more than 40,730 ballots were declared invalid in the October 6th parliamentary election.
The municipalities with the most invalid ballots are Srbica, Novo Brdo, Drenica and Podujevo, ‘KoSSev’ reported.
The reason for such a large number of invalid ballots could be considered to be inadequate information from the CEC and political entities on how to vote.
Central Election Commission spokesman Valmir Elezi told KosovoPress that since the results of the October 6th election have not yet been confirmed, the CEC has not yet determined the reason for the number of invalid ballots.
He said a more detailed report on invalid votes will be put together at a later time.
Elezi also did not rule out the possibility that a lack of information is responsible for a large number of such votes, justifying it with a short deadline for holding early elections.
