Matthew Palmer, Deputy Assistant Secretary at US Department of State - Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and a special envoy for the Western Balkans, would not attend the Belgrade Security Forum conference from October 16 – 18, as it was announced due to his other urgent tasks, the Beta news agency reported.

The US embassy to Serbia told the agency Palmer planned a visit to Belgrade sometime soon.

He will be replaced by Dave Kostelancik, the Director, Office of South Central Europe at US Department of State.
