Kosovo’s Central Election Commission has ordered a recount of the ballots cast in Sunday’s parliamentary elections at 303 polling stations because of incorrectly printed ballots.
Commission Chairwoman Valdete daka said that the recount was not being ordered because of “manipulation but because of a technical error”. “The forms were printed incorrectly, we will know whose mistake that is in the next few days,” she said.
The population of Kosovo voted at early parliamentary elections on Sunday. According to preliminary results, Vetevendosje (Self-Determination) leads the field with 25.23 percent of the vote, followed by the Democratic League of Kosovo with 24.83 percent and the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 21.2 percent.
Kosovo has a total of 2,547 polling stations.
