Some 3,000 taxi drivers took part in Wednesday’s protest in Belgrade, organizers said.
The taxi drivers, who are demanding that the government shut down the CarGo company which they say is operating illegally, converged on the Serbian government headquarters from four different directions as they have for more than a week.
The taxi drivers also demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic who said on Tuesday that CarGo was not breaking the law.
The Traffic Ministry said later that CarGo was not operating in line with the law. Belgrade taxi drivers were lent support earlier this week by their counterparts in Novi Sad.
