Serbia’s Miniter of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic confirmed on Friday, that the OSCE had received a letter from the country's’ authorities inviting it to monitor the forthcoming general elections, N1 reported.

She added that the announced boycott of the vote by the leading opposition organisations seemed like a cowardly act to her.

Mihajlovic said the opposition announced the boycott because the Government did not invite the OSCE to monitor the election process, and when “OSCE said it got the invitation, the so-called opposition again said it would boycott the vote.

There were some conflicting reportson whether the invitation was sent, but the OSCE put an end to the controversy by confirming it had received the letter inviting them to monitor the process.
