Serbia is committed to the value of UNESCO and wants to be a reliable partner in the implementation of global priorities, and strategic goals of the organisation, the country’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has said on Friday, the Beta news agency reports.
Addressing the opening of the International Consulting Meeting about media and information literacy, he said
Serbia had put efforts to widen the cooperation with UNESCO and offer support to the intellectual authority and the diversity of the organisation's expertise.
”I’m convinced the world cannot be better without the protection and strengthening of the cooperation in culture, education, communication and information, which for UNESCO is a key factor at the global level," Dacic said.
He added he hoped that the forthcoming visit to Serbia by the UNESCO General Director Audrey Azoulay would contribute to Serbia’s cooperation with the organisation.
