Serbia’s opposition leader: International community needs opposition as ikebana Izvor: N1

The leader of the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) Dragan Djilas has said on Thursday that Serbia’s opposition serves “as ikebana” to the international community which, according to him, supports President Aleksandar Vucic who it expects to recognise the independence of Kosovo, the Beta news agency has reported.

He said the people would “win the fight for their freedom themselves as many times in history and when we win, we’ll know we don't owe anything to anyone.”

“Waiting for the recognition (of Kosovo’s independence), the international community turns the blind eye on violations of human rights, total control of media, the destruction of everyone who thinks differently and the fact that Serbia’s Euro-integrations have stopped,” Djilas told the Belgrade Danas daily in an interview.

He joined another opposition leader, former President Boris Tadic who earlier in the day said that a part of the international community supported Vucic, expecting him to recognise Kosovo as an independent state.
