Serbian Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimovic said on Thursday that no new cases of African Swine Fever had been reported.
Speaking after a meeting with representatives of a pig farmers’ association, Nedimovic said the disease had been localized and blamed that the outbreak on farmers.
“We managed to resolve the issue for now in a small area. The African Swine Fever virus is like a terrorist, it can appear in Pirot (in the south) and then three months somewhere in the north of the country, then in the east. It’s not a conventional swine plague where there’s a vaccine which can fight it. There is no vaccine for this,” the minister said.
