Total revenue of 100 best-earning companies from the region was 100 billion Euros in 2018, Serbia’s Chambers of Commerce (PKS) said, while the country’s best firms harvested 34 billion Euros, the FoNet news agency reported on Wednesday.
PKS said that the best companies in Slovenia reported 29 billion Euros in revenues, in Croatia the revenue was 24 billion, in Bosnia and Herzegovina 11 billion and Montenegro four billion Euros.
According to “Cube Team," an analytic partner to the “100 Largest in Serbia” Project, among the top ten companies in Serbia and region the state-owned firms make up to 60 percent, like ‘Elektroprivreda Srbije’ (EPS), Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS), Telekom Srbija and Serbia Mail company.
The best enterprises in Serbia employ more than 340,000 people. Belgrade headquarters the largest number of them, 411, the northern city of Novi Sad 72, Nis in the south 29, and the northern towns of Subotica and Zrenjanin 20 companies each.
