Zorana Mihajlovic, Serbia’s Minister of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure, said on Monday her Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) would purge their “idlers and thieves,” the FoNet news agency reported.
In an interview with the Srpski Telegraf daily she said that everyone in the party who did not show results and used SNS for personal interest shroud fear for their positions.
“SNS is not a place for those who don’t do their job. That was a clear message President Aleksandar Vucic (also the SNS head) passed during the party’s leadership meeting. And I don’t have the slightest doubt that everyone who should, understood it quite well,” Mihajlovic said.
She added that SNS, being, as she said, the largest party in the region, had the most significant responsibility and also had many hard-working people “who deserve to get rid of those who are not like them.”
Speaking about the general elections coming in spring of 2020, Mihajlovic said they would be critical.
“They will not decide only who will lead the Government, but also whether Serbia will manage to preserve the independence, neutrality and dignity which all we have now after so many years.”
