The 6th multi-national military exercise Platinum Wolf 19 ended at the South (JUG) base in southern Serbia on Monday, the Defence Ministry said.

A press release said that the exercise in the area around the town of Bujanovac included 257 military personnel from Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Romania, North Macedonia, the US, Slovenia and Great Britain. More than 2,000 troops from 15 countries have taken part in the six exercises to date.

This year’s two-week exercise was organized for troops to train for deployment in multi-national peacekeeping operations.

US ambassador Kyle Scott said at the closing ceremony that the exercise improves every year with a training scenario based on realistic situations. He said the South Base has become a model base for training peacekeeping forces.
