The Kosovo state TV (RTK) said that UNMIK told its staff to stay at home during the recent police operation in northern Kosovo.

An unnamed UNMIK spokeswoman told the RTK’s Serbian-language web portal that Russian mission member Mikhail Krasnoshchenkov was out on the street monitoring and reporting on the situation under the mission’s mandate despite the recommendation to stay indoors by regional UNMIK chief Danilo Rozales Diaz who sent an e-mail to staff in northern Kosovo recommending that they stay off the streets.

The RTK said that UNMIK staff also received an SMS message recommending that they remain at home during the police operation.
