Serbia does not have sufficient flood protection measures and equipment, Environment Minister Goran Trivan said on Wednesday.

“There is always a shortage of money but we should immediately start working in places that need flood protection the most,” the minister told reporters at Belgrade’s Botanical Gardens on World Environment Day.

He said climate change has caused serious complications which make it hard to predict all changes. “In little Serbia we have a situation in which one area is flooded and a neighbouring are has a drought problem,” Trivan said.
