Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on Wednesday refused to answer questions about the purchase of an aircraft for the Serbian government saying that the deal had been classified as confidential.
The Insajder portal reported that the government took ownership of an airplane that used to belong to the Brazilian EMS pharmaceuticals company which bought the Serbian Galenika pharmaceuticals manufacturer.
Insajder said the government ignored its request for information about the Embraer Legacy 600 and did not allow access to the classified contract.
Asked whether the plane was bought or given to the government, Prime Minister Brnabic said she would not disclose details “because this is not a plane owned by (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic or Ana Brnabic, it will not be taken home by anyone but will remain the property of the government for other state officials after our term in office. This is a security issue for the country and top state officials,” she said adding that the purchase of government aircraft is classified in every other country.
