Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed surprise with a statement by the countries of the Quint which said that the elections in northern Kosovo were fraught with irregularities, including pressure on voters and inaccurate voter rolls.
Vucic said that he “never read anything more stupid” than the statement about the elections for mayor in four Serb-majority municipalities.
He said the countries of the Quint (France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain and the US) had sent observers to the elections in what he said was an effort to find irregularities to blame on Serbia, adding that they failed and had to recall the recommendations made by a European Union observer mission in 2017.
Vucic said he would discuss everything with Kosovo Serb List officials in Belgrade on Friday. “We have to show the determination that we want to survive on our centuries-old homes and also show restraint, calm, tolerance and enough sense which we did not have at every historic moment,” he said.
