The offices of a Belgrade lawyer who was indicted for complicity in a pyramid savings scheme have been damaged in an arson attack.

N1 was told that unidentified perpetrators poured petrol over the windows of the offices of lawyer Stevan Protic in the Zemun neighbourhood on the night of Sunday-Monday. The blaze damaged part of the offices.  

Protic is known to the public as a lawyer for protected witness Ljubisa Buha Cume who headed one of Belgrade’s crime clans. Protic was indicted for his involvement in the Jugoskandik pyramid scheme along with several others for defrauding their clients of more than 60 million German Marks in 1992-93.
