The leader of the opposition Movement of Free Citizens (PSG), actor Sergej Trifunovic, told N1 on Saturday that his movement will adopt a statute and a political declaration which will be an exercise for the day they take over power in Serbia.
As opposed to other parties, the PSG will decentralise the government, Belgrade will not impose local representatives but local communities will elect them themselves, and the focus will be on the fight for every citizen, regardless of nationality or religion, he said.
Over the past four months, since he took over leadership, some 1,000 new members joined the movement and the number is growing, he said.
Trifunovic said it was too early to talk about parliamentary elections which are planned for 2020 but he noted that of all the parties, the Democratic Party was the closest to his movement’s program.
He said he couldn’t tell whether President Aleksandar Vucic would lose the election because of the negotiations over the status of Kosovo but that Vucic has already given Pristina almost everything it wanted and that the EU and the US are keeping him in power so he would recognise Kosovo’s independence.
