Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic said on Saturday that his country ensured “a good passage” in China at the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ forum in Beijing.
Vucic said that he revealed the truth about Serbia’s cooperation with China at a round table at the final day of the forum and that he said that western countries keep making up new rules and setting up protectionist measures because they do not know how to deal with China’s growing economy.
“I said that I was often facing various forms of pressure, but was never pressured by anyone from China in a political or economic way. The talks with (Chinese tyre producer) Linglong were difficult and there was haggling, but that is business,” Vucic told reporters.
“We, on the other hand, have to protect the monopoly of certain foreign governments because they keep us under impossible pressure,” he said.
