Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia’s President, arrived in Beijing with a numerous delegation where he would take part in the Belt and Road Initiative meeting and have talks with presidents of China Xi Jinping and Russia Vladimir Putin, the Beta news agency reported on Wednesday.
Vucic will also meet the Switzerland Federation President Ueli Maurer and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
President of Serbia will take part at the round table discussion “Initiatives aiming at finding new growth sources,” and will be among three leaders who will address the Forum at its end.
He will also witness the signing of the announced ten agreements between China and Serbia.
Serbia's and China's ministers of Sciences and Innovations agreed on Wednesday in Beijing that Belgrade would host the ministerial conference about innovations within the 'Belt and Road Initiative' in the autumn with the participation of 17 ministers from Central and Eastern Europe.
Sinisa Mali, Serbia’s Finance Minister said on Tuesday Belgrade and Beijing would sign ten commercial agreements during the forthcoming “One belt, one Road” summit in the Chinese capital, the Beta news agency reported.
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), also known as the One Belt One Road or the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road is a Chinese Government development strategy involving infrastructure development and investments in 152 countries and international organisations in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Africa.
Earlier reports suggested Vucic would discuss the Kosovo issue with Jinping and Putin before the Western Balkans' leaders meeting in Berlin on April 29 which was said to have the Belgrade - Pristina dialogue on its agenda.
Also, the Kosovo issue will be on the agenda of Serbia's Parliament for the first time after some seven years following all these meetings.
