Czech Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček told his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic on Tuesday that the new European Commission should be more active in its support for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue to guarantee a European perspective for both Serbia and Kosovo.
“A compromise between Belgrade and Pristina is one of the sensitive questions to be resolved so that a European perspective can be secured for both countries,” he told a news conference, adding that his country could help get the dialogue moving forward.
He said the accession of the Western Balkans into the EU is important for democracy, stability and economic prosperity.
Dacic told the news conference that Serbia wants to resolve problems in the region through dialogue with membership in the EU as a strategic goal. „We believe that is a positive stimulation for the entire region,“ he said.
