The Government of Serbia decides to help the reconstruction of fire-stricken Paris landmark the Notre Dame Cathedral with million Euros, the FoNet news agency has reported on Monday, citing a Government statement.

The statement added that this donation “confirms a centuries-long friendship with French people and a wish that a symbol of France and the world, the temple of culture and arts, is renovated as soon as possible and again opens its doors to visitors.”

French President Emmanuel Macron said the reconstruction would last five years, while the experts estimated the works could go on for a decade and a half.

The cause of the fire has not been determined yet, but it is believed it has happened due to ongoing works inside the Cathedral.
