Camp Bondsteel commander US Colonel Roy Macaraeg said on Monday that his troops would have to respond if the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) violated their mandate.
He told the Balkan Security Network that the reaction would depend on the circumstances, adding that he would turn to the KFOR commander if the circumstances warranted. The colonel said the KFOR mandate had not changed which means that it is not biased and provides a safe environment and stability for both Kosovo and the entire region.
Macaraeg said the important thing is for the political dialogue to continue and find a political solution.
The colonel said cooperation with the Army of Serbia is excellent, adding that he meets regularly with Serbian officers such as Brigadier General Slobodan Stopa who commands a brigade in southern Serbia. He said a soccer match is being planned as part of cooperation.
