The Sloga Union on Monday denied claims by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that the average monthly salary in the Belgrade area was 600 Euros.

A union statement said that the president’s claim that living standards were higher than in other places in Serbia is also false.

“If the president meant only his party’s officials with jobs in the Belgrade city administration, heads of communal service companies and their associates and not the average salaries of employees in the public and private sector, then we believe him,” Sloga said.

President Vucic said during a tour of the Belgrade Waterfront construction site that average salaries in Belgrade are higher than 600 Euros and are much higher than in other parts of Serbia.
