Opposition People’s Party Vice President Sanda Raskovic-Ivic said she does not believe President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic would resign because of the ongoing protests of citizens but that Vucic will have to talk to the opposition.
“As a realist, I can tell those resignations will not happen but what should happen is that Vucic asks himself why those people ask him to do so (to resign),” Raskovic-Ivic told the Blic daily.
According to her, Vucic’s politics means “never-ending buying of time with promises – it will happen now.”
“So, I believe he will have to sit with the opposition although he said he would not talk to fascists and tycoons,” said Raskovic-Ivic.
She added that this meeting could happen if everyone put behind personal animosities and insults.
None of the opposition’s representatives asks for Vucic’s head, said Raskovic-Ivic, adding that the President of Serbia is the one who would see that way his possible loss of power.
She does not believe the snap parliamentary election will take place in June this year.
