Local officials call Belgrade deputy mayor to resign Izvor: Opština Stari grad

Local officials put up signs saying Welcome to eternal second Vesic’s Disneyland in Belgrade's central Stari Grad municipality, replacing the signs for the new parking zone which the city government set up earlier this month.

Stari Grad municipal Mayor Marko Bastac and his staff took down the signs for the new purple parking zone (up to 30 minutes at a cost of 100 Dinars) when they were put up to protest the decision that they blamed Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic for.

They said on Friday that they were preparing a blockade of Vesic’s office. “We intend to stop all harmful projects and the tabloid accusations by eternal second Goran Vesic nor the threats made through rat channels will stop us," a press release said and called Vesic to resign.

Bastac and his staff and followers are also trying to prevent the construction of a cable car from the Kalemegdan fortress to New Belgrade across the Sava river and the felling of trees as part of the project.
