The Dosta je Bilo (DJB) party said on Thursday that its leader Branka Stamenkovic MP had been arrested during a party performance in front of the pro-government Happy TV station.
A statement said that Stamenkovic and party spokeswoman Hana Adrovic were approached by police officers who refused to identify themselves, demanding their ID cards. The police officers said they were there to protect someone in the station.
It added that they were prevented from leaving and were told that a police patrol would take them to the police station in Zemun. A DJB activist was recording the event with his mobile phone which one of the plain clothes police officers grabbed from him and deleted the video.
Stamenkovic and Adrovic were held on the street in front of the TV station for more than an hour. They were released after a police inspector showed up, gave back their ID cards and told them they could leave, the DJB said.
The party demanded an explanation from Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic.
