The Vitraz online culture magazine reported that its site had been attacked and shut down following the publication of an article about the destruction of Belgrade’s cultural heritage.

A press release said that the article was about “the adding of a gondola and passage to the Kalemegdan fortress, planned tearing down of monumental buildings in two downtown streets and the cutting down of greenery”.

“This is just one of a number of reasons for us all to continue being brave, defiant and socially aware. Our fight is not about personal views and egos but for the basic values of civilization which include freedom of opinion,” the online culture magazine said in its press release.
