Serbian minister says Kosovo would jeopardize Interpol Izvor: Tanjug/MUP Republike Srbije

Kosovo’s membership in Interpol would jeopardize that professional police organization, Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Friday.

He told Czech Ambassador Tomas Kuchta that the latest vote at the Interpol General Assembly in Dubai showed that a lot of countries do not support Kosovo’s request for membership nor do they want the police organization to become political.

A ministry press release said that the minister and ambassador discussed police cooperation, adding that existing cooperation is good but with room for improvement especially in combatting organized crime and terrorism.

Stefanovic and Kuchta also discussed border management and migration.
