Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said on Friday that Pristina would never revoke the 100 percent tariffs on goods from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina if that is the condition to continue talks with Belgrade.
“If the tariffs are more important than the (Belgrade-Pristina) dialogue, we will never revoke them, never. If the tariffs are the problem we will never revoke them. If the tariffs show Serbia its place why should we revoke them? It does not want to recognize us, does not want good neighbour relations. It wants us to buy its goods and sets conditions for negotiations,” he tld RTV 21.
Haradinaj said European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini should not “invite us to continue the dialogue” if she won’t continue it unless the tariffs are revoked.
The prime minister spoke after his deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj told RTV 21 on Thursday that the dialogue should be given a chance but the Kosovo won’t take part unless Serbia provides guarantees that it will result in mutual recognition.
