Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic spoke out on Friday against the idea to form an alliance against Serbia.
The idea was launched by Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli who called Montenegro and Macedonia to rally against Serbia.
Markovic said the idea is senseless and cannot be accepted in Montenegro. “Montenegro was never in an alliance against anyone, including Serbia. I don’t understand this message. It cannot be accepted in Montenegro and from Montenegro’s point of view it is senseless,” Markovic said after a meeting with European Commissioner Johannes Hahn.
Hahn recalled the promises made by the countries of the Western Balkans that they would not obstruct each other’s European aspirations and would support each other.
The commissioner said that all the countries of the region should stick to those promises, especially their top officials.
