Haradinaj tells Hahn Kosovo firmly on path to EU Izvor: N1

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said after Thursday’s meeting with European Commission Johannes Hahn that Kosovo is firmly on the path to the European Union.

“In this year’s first meeting with Hahn I emphasized that Kosovo’s position is steadfast towards EU integration,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

Haradinaj also expressed the expecation that the EU would decide soon on a visa liberalization for citizens of Kosovo. He added that Kosovo has made progress on the road to the EU and has met all the criteria for a liberalization of the visa regime with the EU.

Hahn did not speak to reporters after the meeting. He tweeted earlier that he had a good, open discussion with Haradinaj and his ministers, adding that he is looking forward to working with them on all open issues so that Kosovo can advance on its EU path.

Hahn’s visit comes amid calls from the international community for Pristina to revoke the 100 percent tariffs it imposed on goods from Serbia which Haradinaj has said would not happen before Belgrade recognizes Kosovo.
