Kosovo President Hashim Thaci denied claims by some politicians in Pristina that he had signed an agreement with Serbia.
Speculation that Thaci had signed an agreement surfaced after the president’s week long absence from public life and his office. Thaci said he is on vacation.
“I have said clearly that there has been no official document or draft document prepared by the European Union. That is normal because we are at the start of the negotiation stage for a final, comprehensive agreement. As soon as I finish my vacation, I will meet with the negotiation team and will provide information in writing about the talks to date. We will coordinate our efforts in this historic process,”, Thaci wrote in a reply to Radio Free Europe.
He added that he had continuously informed both co-chairs of the negotiation team about every topic discussed in Brussels so far in the last stage of the dialogue to normalize relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
